QUESTION: my 1985 porsche 944 does not start at all when its cold and in the mornings. i have to push starter for it to start. i checked everything. once it starts i have no problem starting it again for the whole day, but in the morning it just wont start. pls help me what could it be? i was thinking it was the ignition coil.

ANSWER: Well if the starter motor isn;t turning over and you have to push the car to start it, you will need a starter motor.

It sounds like you may have a parasitic current draw that is killing your battery. Check the battery voltage in the morning. it should be at least 12V. if you know how to do a current draw test you should only see about .030A draw.

You need to be more specific when you say the car doesn't start.
like "The engine turns over like normal, but the engine doesn't start."
You turn the key, all of the lights and horn work normal, but when you turn the key,the engine doesn't turn over. etc...
