Questionhi there, i saw this forum and i find it very useful. though, i can't find an answer for my problem, so i would appreciate it if you would consider giving me an advice. here it goes:
i have a 944 porsche with a 2,5 liter engine, 4 cyllinders, 150 hp and manual transmission 5 speed gearbox. and i want to change this engine (and transmission) with one from a 968 model which has a 3 liter engine (240 hp, 4 cyllinders) and 6 speed gerbox (also manual). my question: is this upgrade possible? is there any special tuninig needed? thanks!

I'd certainly try to get another expert opinion, but I think this would be one heck of a great swap! I've never spent any time thinking about it, but since the 968 is a grandson of the 944, I'll bet most of the pieces and parts would fit fine.
Now for another bunch of opinions: http://www.flat-6.net/forum/archive/index.php/t-7739.html Forums such as these, and there are quite a few covering the 944, would certainly give you a wide range of opinion. Just remember, 99.9% of these guys have never done an engine swap, so take their comments with a grain of salt.
Don't be mistaken, a swap is a major undertaking...but of all the swaps I can think of, this one makes a lot of sense on first impression!
