RV Repair: Dometic refigerator, dometic refrigerator, flame sensor

Question
How come my 1995 Dometic refrigerator Designer Series RM 2807 goes in to check on propane and electric? Sometimes it will run for awhile then other times it will keep going into check as soon as you hit the power switch. I have already replaced the control board and it does the same thing. also how come it wants to run on propane instead of electric even if I am plugged in to a power source?

Answer
Hi Bill:
Have a look at the flame sensor/igniter there may be some carbon build up there that keeps it from working correctly. If after you clean it and it still does not work change it out. I have not seen very many of those go bad but you might have one. The prioritization of a two way unit is AC when it is available and then propane. For a three way is is AC first, then propane then DC. The control is strickly a function of the control board, you may have got a bad one. I usually use a Dinasour board for replacement but a factory board is good also. Also check all the connections to the board again.
Good luck,
Bill
