RV Repair: slide out electric motor, bob heath, 12 volt battery

Question
How is the best way to check and see where my electric slide out motor has failed, that is, is the failure in the electrical system or the motor itself.  I have been able to make the slide move some by playing with the old switch so I purchased a new switch, installed it and got a clicking sound from my power converter (sounds like a relay that won't work)but no slide motion

My unit is a 1999 Sportsmen 3270 5th wheel

Please help

Thank you

Bob Heath

Answer
Bob,
The easiest way is to take a 12 volt battery underneath the unit and hook some jumper wires straight from the battery to the two wires on the motor itself.  If the room moves then the problem could be a control board, switch or power or ground to the circuit.  I hope this helps, good luck and happy camping.
