RV Repair: trans appears to slip when, ford 460, transmission shop

Question
i have a 1989 ford 460 tioga with 30000 miles on it. recently as i go up hill or apply power usually as it shifts from 2nd to 3rd it appears to slip or lose power. the engine continues to rev up but it appears not to transfer power to the trans.  i was told that it could possibly be the catylytic converter. any ideas as to what to do or begin diagnosis of this problem? thanks talipp.

Answer
I would start by having a reputable transmission shop take it for a test drive and give you an idea whether it's the transmission or not.  They usually do not charge for this service.
I doubt if it's the catalytic converter, your symptoms to not indicate that.
