Saab Repair: Saab 9-5 Electrical, key cylinder, light oil

The radio in my 1999 Saab 9-5 does not shut off when I turn the car off and remove the key.  I also cannot lock the car with the key fob as it seems that the electrical system is remaining on.  This just started happening.  Is my car plagued with expensive electrical problems?

What is happening is that the ignition key cylinder is not popping up when you take the key out. This make the car think the key is still in, therefore the radio still works and you can't use the remote. You can try lubeing the cylinder with a light oil, but likely will need to replace the actual cylinder. It would need to ordered from the dealer and will take a week or 2 to come in as it comes from Sweden, coded to the car.
