Saab Repair: Saab glitch, intermittent problems, battery terminals

Question
1997 9000Cse  I have an interrmittent problem at start up.  Every once in awhile I turn the key to start but the various engine lights either don't come on or come on very dimmed.  The car may or may not start.  Cycling the key a few times will generally get the indicator lights to come on normally and the car starts normally.  Recently replaced the battery and voltage reulator.  Any ideas???

Answer
Sounds like you have a poor connection somewhere, or a faulty ignition switch. Check all the connections you can access, check your battery terminals to make sure they are clean and tight. Unfortunately, intermittent problems are very hard to trace, and it may have to wait until it fails completely until it is found.....
