Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn mower will not keep running, battery cables, garden tractor

I have a craftsman garden tractor, it has a 26hp Kohler pro V twin courage engine in it. model number is SV735S.this tractor I bought new and used very little it has got to where it will not start with out jumping it off and it fires right up but as soon as i remove the battery cables it dies immediately. is this the battery or something else.

You have a battery charge rectifier that is bad causing a no charge problem to the battery. You will need to replace this part it is really easy to fix,and simple to get at.
