QUESTION: Thank You The Diagram Helped. I think The Fuel Pump Is Rebuilt Right. But I still Have No gas going into the carburetor. I can see some gas in gas filter and some when i take hose off fuel pump. I am also having another problem after trying to start several times all I get is a click but battery still has 12.23 volts and wire attached to starter is red hot. Do not know what to check next for either problem. B&S Model#42E707  Type 2631-E1 Thank You Joe.

Answer
Let's get the fuel problem fixed first.  Remove the spark plugs when working and testing the carb.  Can you remove the top of the carburetor and then crank the engine to see if the fuel pump is pumping fuel to the carburetor?  I have done this in the past.

Have you checked the hose connections to make sure they are connected to the correct nipple on the fuel pump?  Is the vaccum line, from the engine block to the fuel pump, in good shape?  You should check the ends of the hose as they can crack.

Have you cleaned the valve breather?  Just use carb cleaner to clean the valve breather.  Remove the breather and spray carb cleaner through it.  The breather is a one way valve and is intended to make sure the crankcase holds vaccum.  The vaccum is necessary to operate the fuel pump.

Let me know what you find.
