Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro lx500 50 deck, blowup, google

Question
When I press on the gas petal the drive belt just smokes. The engine starts and runs fine however when I try to get moving it just smokes. The petal has lost its resistance and goes to the bottom without effort. I was mowing and I heard some of what I thought was minor squeeking but turned out not to be so minor. Do you have any idea as to what could be wrong? Thank you!

Likely you have a locked up pulley or something like that.
For a parts blowup and numbers, just "google" "Toro Parts Viewer"
and their parts lookup can be viewed, but you will need to find
the model number off of the Tag on the frame, if you could tell
me that number, I can look it up as well to see what your machine looks like.
