Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Generator Engine made by Tecumseh, crankcase breather, metal tag

Where do I locate the engine number on this engine.  I am in need of a carburetor.  The model # is 580.327051.  It is rather old and I inherited it. Sears parts can not assist me until I identify the engine number.  Sears can not advise where the number may be located nor how many digits the engine number contains.  I certainly would appreciate your input.

The Tecumseh numbers will either be stamped on a metal tag that's usually attached to the crankcase breather or on a plate or sticker on the side of the block.  The number will begin 143.XXXXXX.  Let me know when you find that number and I'll get you the part number you need for the carb.  You don't have to buy this through Sears if you don't want, they tend to be rather high.....
