Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 5hp tecumseh, briggs stratton, horizontal shafts

I want to replace the point system on my 5HP Tecumseh and my 5HP Briggs & Stratton with eletronic ignitions.  They are both horizontal shafts. The coil on the Tecumseh is under the flywheel.  How will I do this?

Briggs is very similar to Tecumseh.  I would recommend a Nova II or similar electronic ignition module.  They are inexpensive, easy to install, and we have had very good sucess with the Nova brand.  You can also find similar kits at most autoparts stores.  Follow the instructions to install, and no, you do not have to remove the points...just leave them in place.
