Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sears Craftsman Brushwacker, sears craftsman, fuel petcock

Question
I have a Brushwacker that was purchased new by my dad back in the 80's.  I am trying to get it running (it has no spark). The model number tag is missing, I don't have the manual.  I have found one kind of similar with a model number of 234.795453. Do you know the maker or vender #234 for Sears?  I need a coil, fuel petcock but don't know where to go. This is a 37.7cc brushwacker.  Thanks, Stuart

Answer
If is like the 234.795453, then it is an old Poulan whacker.

The valve, part#530092518, the points and cond. #530092455, and #530092456, are all discontinued, but googling and checking on e-bay and the like, you might find what you need.

If you get it running, then you have to find someone to use it......

Those units were powerfull beasts, and getting it running would be fun.

An aftermarket electronic ignition might work, but I have not explored it too much.

Let me know...
