Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda GC190 backfiring and hard to pull, honda engines, questioners

Question
QUESTION: HI there John, I asked you a question about this a while back, and this is where I'm at with it: After following your advice before, I checked the vavle clearance, it's good, checked the flywheel key, it's fine, I replaced the muffler, didn't fix the problem, and I cleaned the carb. It's still backfiring out the carb and really hard to pull. The next thing you told me to check is the timing, but the two websites you gave me for that don't have that information. How do I go about checking the timing on that engine. Honda GC190 GCAAA-1551554 QHAF

ANSWER: Hello Again Jay:

>>Here is a Better Site that 1 of the Questioners I had gave me.
>>I Understand the Service Manual that is Available for online Viewing is Almost the Same as the Shop Manual Used in the Shop. It is Supposed to have All the Required Steps for Checking and Setting the Timing Belt and the Valves.
>>You can Use this Site Addy; http://www.honda-engines-eu.com/en/welcome.html and Select Service Information from the Drop Down Menu of the Service Tab. Then Select Troubleshooting, Owner Manual or Shop Manual (whichever you are Looking for). You want to Download the Shop Manual.
>>Please, Do Not Hesitate, If you Hit a Snag, if I Missed Something or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck

QUESTION: nope. for future reference, the service manual on that website doesn't say a word about timing. at least for the GC series.

Answer
Hi Jay:

>>Due to Copyright Laws I cannot Copy, Print or Convey the Pag of my Shop Manual that has the Timing Information on it.
>>I will Look for Another Site that has the Informatio you are Looking for and I will Start making a Basic Instruction File for the Timing on the GC Series Engines.
>>Thanks for the Update and Heads Up about the EU Site Addy. I will make the Proper Corrections to my Instruction File List.
