ive got a 3.5 briggs & stratton engine do i need to mix 2 stroke oil with the petrol

I doubt it.  On your engine, is there a dipstick or a place to fill the oil?  If so, just use 30sae oil in there and none in the gas.  If you have any doubts, give me the model and type numbers off the engine.  They should be stamped into the sheetmetal of the starter housing.  Thanks, PK.
