Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Repairing self propel Craftsman lawn mower, craftsman lawn mower, speed cable

I have a Craftsman 6.75 self propelled model 917.374430. The vari speed cable broke on the end with the spring. I purchased a new one and also a separate spring as that was broken also. The exploded view on the owner's manual diagram does not show where the spring on the end of the vari speed cable goes and how the stand alone spring attaches. Your expert help would be appreciated or a link to a diagram would help. Thank you in advance.

I was unable to find a illustration online myself. I have a few of these in my shop now, if you forward me your email address, and can wait till tomorrow, I will bring my camera tomorrow, and take a close-up picture for you, and email it to you......Tom
