ANSWER: Hello Peter:

I have a 1994 Yamaha 350 Wolverine and know Well of what you Ask. lol. By Changed the Carburetor, I take it to mean a Rebuilt or Good Carburetor that you Know will Function on an Engine. What is the Compression? What is the Year Model? Thanks.

QUESTION: ITS A 1987 350 WARRIOR AND YES THE CARBURATOR WAS TAKEN FROM ANOTHER WARRIOR THAT WAS IS IN WORKING CONDITION,AS FOR THE COMPRESSION I DON,T KNOW BUT I MUST BE GOOD BECAUSE ITS HARD TO CRANK BY HAND AND IT RAN FINE NOT LONG AGO

ANSWER: Hello Again Peter:

Thanks for the Information. OK, We have Good Compression and a Good Carburetor and the Spark Plug is Firing Good; so you will need to Check the Valve and Spark Plug Timing. If the Cam Gear Pin has Sheared or the Flywheel Key is Damaged or Sheared you will have the Problem you Described. Either of these Problems can Occur when you Shut the Engine Off. You have to Remove the Cam Gear Bolt and Gear to Properly Check the Cam Gear Pin and Completely Remove the Flywheel to Check the Flywheel Key. QUESTION: THANKS FOR YOUR HELP I WILL CHECK THAT OUT ON THE WEEKEND.BUT COCRENING MY START THAT JUST SPINS WITHOUT ENGAGING THE ENGINE DOES IT MEAN THE STARTER IS FINISHED ( GEAR STRIPPED) OR COULD IT BE SOMETHING ELSE.

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP

Answer
Hi Peter:

As my Son Say; My Bad. I Totaly Forgot About the Starter Problem. The Starter Clutch is Bad. Usually this is Caused by Weak CStarter Clutch Springs. I Suggest you Replace the Starter Clutch Assembly. The Starter Itself is Most Likely Good. I have had this Problem Several Times with My Wolverine. I Use Mine Almost Everyday and the Starter gets a Good Workout. Again I Appoligize for Forgetting About the Starter Problem. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
