Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Lawn Tractor, craftsman lawn tractor, open circuits

Question
Craftsman Lawn tractor 16.5 horse 46 inch cut
Model 917.272021
When I release the clutch after starting, the engines dies, as if switched off. I have checked all electrical safety switches and replaced the "Operator Presence" relay and have verified that the clutch/brake pedal switch is operational. There are no open circuits that I can find.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Tom

Answer
 Hello Tom:

Did you Replace the Seat Switch or the Relay? Go to this Addy http://www3.sears.com/ and Enter the Model Numbers in the Box at the Upper Left Corner of this Page and Click Go. Visually Verify the Equipment and Click Continue. Then Select View Diagram of Electrical. Diagram Number 29 is the Seat Switch and Number 81 is the Relay. If the Relay or Seat Switch are Bad then the Problem you Described will Occur. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
