Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): disabeling govenor, honda gx160, horizontal shaft

Question
I am building a mini bike and have a Honda GX160 horizontal shaft engine... I need to connect a twist grip throttle to the carb... my question is how I should incorporate the govenor... should I disable it re-adjust it, or something other..?

Thanks

Answer
Hiya Lester- Thats alot of engine for a minibike-
The governor CAN be disconnected, I really don't recommend it, it WILL shorten the life of the engine.  It can be re-adjusted easily tho- the lever arm that attaches to the governor shaft coming out of the engine can be loosened, it has a slot in its middle, you hold that with a screwdriver and rotate the arm SLIGHTLY CCW to raise the governed RPM.  I mean VERY slightly.  Heh- good luck.  Alternately you can lengthen the governor spring a bit and achieve the same effect, but this cannot be reversed later ;)
