Tips on Buying Cars: credit status after swapping a lease, nissan, credit status

Hi
If I successfully get out of my Nissan lease, if the new buyer defaults am I responsible?  What if they trash the car?  I know Nissan requires "approval" of the new person but what does that mean.  I am Soooooo upside down.

Hi Claudia,

The person buying your Nissan will have to be approved credit wise by Nissan. Meaning they will be putting the lease in another persons name if they qualify.
You will have no further responsibility with this lease if that happens.
