some low life tried to steal my 2000 s10 ,they broke up my steering column up pretty good ,so i replaced the whole steering column ,now it won,t start,do i need to re program the computer to except the new one

Hi Don:

I'm sorry about your truck.  I guess these are the times we live in.  

Your truck has a passkey antitheft systems (which is why you still have the truck and not him).  You need to make sure you installed a column with the same wiring as the original.  specifically the antitheft wiring.  Make sure the columns match.  Then, you will need to reprogram the ignition system.  Our company has posted instructions and a description of how to reprogram the ignition switch on GM vehicles (for a small fee).  They are broken down into step by step detailed instructions.
