Steering Column Repair: replacing rack actuator, caprice classic, chevrolet truck

Are most locksmiths capable of changing out a rack actuator on cars or trucks? I have an 86' caprice classic.  thanks

From my experience, most locksmiths tend to shy away from the deeper repairs like an actuator.  These repairs take some special tools that mechanics will have, but most locksmiths do not.
We have recently uploaded some videos on our company website to give you first hand viewing of how to remove, disassemble, and reassemble the column you are talking about. They are broken down into step by step 2-3 minute detailed videos with instructions. Although the videos are for a Chevrolet truck, the column is very similar to yours.
