Steering Column Repair: 72 chevy truck auto column shift trouble, salvage yards, custom column

Question
I broke the shift lever trying to pull the lever into reverse,
it is binding up, needs lube or something. It's just a work
truck, but it would be nice to shift into park, which it wont
now unless I go under the hood. Looking for solutions, other
than a new custom column... thanks.

This one is too hard to determine exactly what is binding up that might have caused your lever to break...Sorry

You can replace it with a used column if you can find one or you can rebuild it with the parts from the used column.
