Suzuki: carberators, skull shifter knobs, weber carbs

Question
hey scotty,
i've got a weber on my suzuki, but i don't know much about it, i did want to drop the idle rpms, from 1000 to 800 and i did it succesfully, but now when the cars idling, black carbon smoke is coming out of the exhaust, is that the fuel being to rich? how can i lean it out/make that black exhaust go a way?
btw, got one of those chrome skull shifter knobs, lol, got to be a kid
take it easy,
geoff

Answer
Sounds like it's rich.  You need to turn the mixture screw in until the idle roughens slightly.
There are a couple of books on weber carbs out there.
I stayed withthe stock carb because it's still unquestionably the best unless you go to the Petroworks or the Bosch CIS K-jet system.
I'm in process of finding lettering for the top of the windshield that reads, "Hummer recovery crew"
