some one broke the lever on the left hand side that conects to the ignition it wont turn over any advise

You don't say what model vehicle you have, but try this:

They are broken down into step by step 2-3 minute detailed videos with instructions. Although the videos are for a Chevrolet truck, the column is very similar to yours.
