Question
i have a 95 Mitsubishi eclipse with no key so i replaced the lock cylinder and it came with new keys.when i put back together the steering column is still locked up.please help

Answer
Hi John:

Part if the problem may be related to how you got the old cylinder out. In order to remove the lock cylinder properly, it needs to turn (with the key) to the "on" position, then depress the release pin and slide it out.  If you chiseled or drilled out the old one there is a good chance the mechanism inside the lock housing was damaged.  That's where the locking pin for the steering is located.
If there is more information you want to tell me, I'll be glad to respond, but as of now, it sounds like you need the lock cylinder housing assembly to repair your situation.

Let me know if there is any more information that I am missing
