Subaru Repair: Brake vibration, Subaru brake questions

Question
Why can't I get my 2002 Legacy to give me a true brake stop without the vibration/  I have changed the rotors and brakes 3 times!!!  It always works for a little while, then begins to pulse/vibrate.  This is a basic 2002 Legacy sedan.

Answer
Hey Tom,

What are you using for parts?

Are making sure the rotor is sitting on the hub flush?  Sometimes an uneven hub surface due to rust and pitting can cause problems.

Next you have a brake system and if you are using O.E. Subaru pads and rotors and the hubs are ok I would look to the rest of your braking system including tire pressure for the answers.  If your rear brakes are suspect or the brake fluid is full of moisture or the tires are uneven all of this can affect brake performance.

Warped rotors cause the pulsation, rotors become warped from heat. Excess heat is generated when the brakes are used excessively or when there are issues with something in the system.

If the brakes all check out ok then the only thing left is to change your driving habits to decrease the heat generated.
