Subaru Repair: 94 Subaru RS rear wheels binding, subaru rs, rear wheels

Question
QUESTION: When turning left or right i can here a clunking noise either from the rear end or the auto trans and the rear tyres scuff like driving a 4X4 on a hard surface.

could you help me to identify this problem as i have inspected the rear end and could not find any thing  obvious.

All tyres are the same and in good nick, changed oil in diff.

ANSWER: Could be the MPT clutches and solenoid located in the back tailshaft of transmission. Insert the FWD fuse and see if it goes away. These clutches are what transfers the power to the rear.

QUESTION: Cant find the FWD fuse only can find a fuse that says (diff lock) and it dose not have a fuse in it.

put fuse in and made it worse as it locked the rear diff in.
Could be the solenoid maybe

Answer
I am not familiar with that old of an impreza. On the newer ones they have a fuse that disables the power to the rear wheels. Your car may not be equipped with it, but it should be the same in the trans. I would take it to a dealer and have it checked. sorry
