Subaru Repair: electronic instrument panel, ground circuits, printed circuit board

86 GL Wagon EA81Turbo. Has been idle for 2.5 yrs. New battery. Tach/Speedo/etc,not on.Panel lights up but no tac,speedo, clock, etc. Engine runs(new timing belts)flashers intermittent. Fuses good. Any suggestions to get panel back?? Thanks..

Really the only thing you can do is verify that the power and ground circuits to the cluster are ok.And if they are than the cluster has gone bad .Back in the day those clusters did fail a lot.I don't have an explanation for why it failed after sitting other than maybe some moisture has gotten in the printed circuit board .Which is possible if you  are brave and want to save a little cash you could take the cluster apart and clean all of the printed circuits this would need to be done in a clean environment with the cluster out of the car.But i would start with checking the power and ground circuits .I hope that helps you have a cool car one of my favorites
