Towing Issues: towing someones car from infront of my mailbox, someones car, public streets

Question
Some neighbors down the street had a party last night and there has been a vehicle infront of my mailbox blocking it and a corner of my driveway, can I have the vehicle towed

Answer
if you are talking about a vehicle parked on "a public street" no you can not have it towed for blocking the driveway or the mailbox.

Blocking a mailbox is not a towable offense in most areas, but the driveway is one where it might be towed.

But the reason that "YOU" cannot have the vehicle towed, is that you have no legal right to order the tow on public streets, it has to be ordered - authorized by a law enforcement officer.  You can call the police and have them come out and do a report and then maybe tow it, but you can not "legally" have it towed on your own.
