Towing Issues: front wheel dr, wheel drive 4x4, tow dolly

i rented a tow dolly to tow a 2003 ford escape "4x4" xlt with front wheel dr 3.ol v6  4speed auto o/d trans from pa to tx. what do i need to do to set this vehicle up for towing



This area highlighted in the quotes which says 4X4 is what was confusing me... The Escape is available in either ALL WHEEL DRIVE (4 wheel drive - 4x4) and also Front wheel drive...
Confusion is there on the question...

If you are using a U HAUL tow dolly they have guidelines on how to use them, but drive it up the ramps onto the dolly. Put it in Park to keep it there while you are working on it.

Then hook up the straps which go over the wheels on each side and then use the safety chain to keep it there.. That should do it...


By the way  RV towing and towing vehicles with dollies are not my area of expertise so I tend not to answer the questions.
