Towing Issues: car towed, tow fees, tow company

Question
My car was parked in a priviate parking lot reserved for local stores.  I parked for shopping and saw a tow truck in front of my car.  I tried to explain but the driver tried to take my car so I sat behind the wheel and called the police.  They told me to let them tow me.  I refused and was arrested.  Was I right?

Answer
AH, well lets see...

You parked somewhere "WHAT STATE, CITY" and it was reserved for the local stores not somewhere else which you might of been going to...

Where you shopping at the mall or stores in which you parked in the lot for...

You got in your car to prevent it from being towed... Called the police, who most likely told you to pay the tow fees, and you refused... The police officer told you to get out and let them tow it away and you refused "a order from a law enforcement officer" and you got arrested for "refusing to cooperate with a law enforcement officers request"

Well did I get it all right?

Parking in a private lot is generally a "civil matter" so it was between you and the tow company... You wanting to not get towed is understandable and as such you got in the vehicle to stop them...

Was there a fee you could of paid to be able to drive away instead of being towed... Or was there more to this than you told me..

I do believe that you were wrong in trying to stop the towing, especially when you got arrested for doing such...
Private property towing is always a land mine area of issues where people do stupid stuff either when they park or after they are towed..
