Towing Issues: Towing from Underground, tow truck driver, parking garages

Question
QUESTION: Hello, I live in Philadelphia PA, My car is currently not in running condition and parked in MY underground parking spot which I pay monthly for.

I am now selling the car. How will a tow truck driver go about getting the car out of the underground garage? I know that the clearance is not big enough for the tow truck to fit down there. It would be possible however to push the car just outside the entrance....but then the tow truck driver is going to be on an incline, will that work?

ANSWER: well tow trucks have many ways of getting to vehicles and unfortunately underground parking garages do tend to create problems...

But pushing a vehicle out to where they can get hooked onto it works usually, or some companies have trucks which are made for underground parking lots...
Then there is always the send another vehicle in to pull it out with a chain or strap... I think that it will be handled when it is time to have it removed... Granted it might be a bit more work and might cost more but it can be done.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Thanks, I know we can push the car just outside clearance area, but then there is still a fairly steep hill that the tow truck driver would have to park on. If the tow truck is at a 25 degree angle and the car is a level at 0 will the tow truck be able to work with that? I figure they tow cars in San Fransisco all the time on hills so they must be able to....

Answer
Well as to the follow-up question it would also depend on if it is a regular tow truck or a flatbed tow truck...
The flatbed tilts down and is like a 7 to 9 % angle to start with and that might be worse with the driveway...

I would imagine when the tow company got there they would know what to do with this kind of call and what was needed.
