Towing Issues: Towing from Rear Wheel, toyota corolla, tow driver

Question
Hello,
I have 2004 Toyota Corolla, fornt wheel drive. My car was not starting. I called AAA and they towed my car to my mechanic. Tow driver towed my car from back and drove around 15 miles. He asked me to put car gear in Neutral I tried but it did not went to neutral. So tow driver pressed button near gear and move the gear to neutal. The car was in neutral when he was moving. My mechnic checked the car and replaced the battery and it started but it was not moving. He found out that transmission is gone. Is it possible that Transmission got damage during towing from back wheel? As my car was running on front wheel while towing.. For sure the car was in Neutral as i said earlier..

Answer
well as much as I would love to say that the tow truck did it right, unfortunately for them it was wrong.
The towing limits on your 2004 Toyota Corolla when towed from the rear with the drive wheels on the ground are Zero Miles at Zero miles per hour... Now this does not mean that it can not be moved out to get to the front end and tow it with the drive wheels up, but if what you said is true about them towing it 15 miles on its drive wheels then I would be discussing the cost of a transmission repair with the towing company...
