Towing Issues: towing laws, gmc sonoma, tow dolly

Question
i was just wondering what were the laws concerning towing a non registered car with a tow dolly, car hauler etc...(in MA,RI,CT,and NH) i'm planing on buying one of the stated but if i could get away with a dolly it would be better. also i'm in the process of installing a 5.7 litre enging in my gmc sonoma so it has the extra power to tow. it has a 4.3 litre in it now. i'm only planning on towing small 4cyl cars(mostly front wheel drive) maybe a few rer wheel drive.i know its alot to ask. thanks for your time.

Answer
Roberto,

I know some states will allow you to tow a non-reg car with a tow dolly given that the dolly and the tow vehicle have valid reg and insurance.  I am no sure which states have what rules regarding registration.  Your best bet, short of digging through the motor vehicle code for each state, would be an RV forum.  These guys and gals have a lot of experience towing through every state and province and I'm sure a question posed on there would yield a plethora of information very quickly.

Sorry for the delay and that I couldn't be of more help.

Good luck,
