Toyota Repair: starting problems, toyota camry, signal generators

Question
93 toyota camry will not start I have no spark at plugs is there a way to check signal generators if so how and what is the best way to check coil?  If signal generator is bad can you replace?

There are no parts available  for the distributor except for the coil, check the coil for any cracks on the epoxy filled area, also check on the underside of the coil, for some reason they have a habit to develop low resistance there and burn through and arc to ground, if that's the case it will be obvious, there will be some burned spots where the electric leak is.
