Tractor Repair: new holland tc 29, clutch pedal, clutch disc

Question
QUESTION: Tractor starts fine.  Can get it in one gear but not both.  If i put in low gear it grinds when I try to put it in 1,2,or3 same if I put in high gear grinds when I try to put in low gear.

ANSWER: How many hour does this tractor have?
is this a hydrostat transmission?
If not how much freeplay does your clutch pedal have? It should have about 1- 1 1/2 inch.
If is not a hydro then either your clutch is not disengaging all the way or you have some synchronizers that need replaced.let me know what you find out and we can go from there.
If you would please rate my answer, thanks

QUESTION: there are 292 hrs on the tractor it is not hydrostat, and there is not play in the clutch.  The rod that connects the bottom of the clutch back toward the rear of the tractor into what looks like a gear box does not move when the clutch is pressed.

ANSWER: Ok, follow the rod that comes from the clutch pedal and find where it goes.
When you move the clutch pedal make sure that this rod is moving.
If not it may have become disconnected or broken.
The clutch pedal is connected to the throw-out bearing which in turn is riding on the tranmission's input shaft.
As you press the clutch pedal this bearing slides on the shaft and presses against the clutch's pressure plate releasing the spring tension on the plate creating just a hair of space between the clutch disc and the pressure plate allow the engine to rotate without spinning the transmission, allowing the shifting of gears.
Let me know what you can find out with the clutch rod moving, I have seen these come unhooked or unscrewed and this is an easy fix.
Just let me know what you find.

QUESTION: I feel stupid but the rod is actually the left brake rod. A friend who has an older model ford tractor came to help look it over and showed me that.  We then looked at the play on the clutch as you mentioned earlier. we also looked for any possible safety wires/switches that may have been broken. I am including all numbers on the tractor to see if they will help Tractor#g035453-model tc29s-engine 77085-unit 1k02d-transmission 2m47801.  If it is the clutch should i take it in to a mechanic to get fixed?

Answer
If the tractor will start then it is not a safety or wiring issue.
Unless you have split a tractor before then it is probaly left to an experienced tech.
You will have to remove the entire instrument housing, hood, side panels, etc, all hyd lines going from front to back, everything that is in the way of splitting the tractor at the point where the engine and transmission meet.
