Tractor Repair: Kubota Tractor, hydrostat, oil level

Question
I have a bx1500 tractor and when i first started riding today, it seemed like it was slipping in reverse. If I pushed on the pedal to hard it would just stop backing up. But if I pushed on it lightly, it would go a few feet and then stop. After this, going forward has become a problem. It works fine on level ground but when I go up on an incline, it stops moving. I don't mean that it dies, it just stops moving.

Answer
I'm going to assume that this is a hydrostat tranny.
Check your hydr. oil level.
When were the filter changed last?
if these are all ok then your hydro needs some internal work.
unless your experienced at these they are best left to the trained tech as they can be pretty daunting to tackle.
Let me know what you find out and we can go from there.
