UK Car Repair: opel astra 1.4/2004, low oil pressure, opel astra

Hi,
I just bought an opel astra life 1.4/2004.Beautiful car but it happen something strange while i was driving on d motorway it start to stuttering and shuddering then it come to normal for a while then do it again. When i pass through a town and a slow down the engine cut off during d driving and d lights appear on board.Very odd d symptoms.Can somebody help me with that,plz?!tnx

could be overheating, low oil pressure or electrical/engine sensor fault. check the waterpump is working properly, make sure the oil is up to the mark on the dipstick and the oil is clean - if the oil is black change it and the oil filter. you will probably have to scan the ecu (diagnostic scan) for error codes - don't get ripped off for a scan, aim to pay £25 tops. error codes should give a good idea of whats wrong, they aren't failsafe though - you still need an expert to figure out what the codes mean. so askagain when you have the codes. if you bought the car from a dealer they should fix this fault - cutting out is a dangerous fault and covered by the sale of goods act - mention this to the seller (if a dealer) and they will fix it.
