UK Car Repair: Blind spot on throttle, opel engine, k series

Question
The car I have is a Rover 75 with a K series 1.8 engine. On snapping open the throttle if accellerating quickly there is a slight hesitency before engine responds. Listening under the bonnet and snapping open the throttle there is a puffing sound from the inlet manifold area before the engine responds. I realise this is not a Vauxhall or Opel engine but perhaps you may have encountered a similar thing on these engines.

Answer
I am not familiar with this engine but i would suggest you make sure all the breathers are clean and the throttle housind is clean......clean it out with some carb cleaner.
Make sure the ignition system is ok....clean plugs etc.....woulodnt worry about the noise when snapping throttle open.....sounds fairly normal
