Volkswagen Repair: 87 Vollkswagen Jetta, vollkswagen, ebay

Hi,  I recently purchased an 87 Jetta on Ebay. The guy said it had been sitting for about a year. I drove it home, seemed to run "ok", thought it might just need standard tune- up and some fresh gas. Now will not start. Checked pump and acces.. It is getting fuel all the way up to injectors.  It will start and run for a few seconds with starting fluid. Help!

Old gas in the system can cause the symptoms described.  Clean all the injectors and replace the fuel filter.  If you can, drain the gas tank to fill with totally fresh gas.  While you have is apart, flush the fuel lines with compressed air.  Then try again.
