Volkswagen Repair: 2000 VW - A/C and Overheating Issue, shippensburg pa, vw beetle

Several weeks ago, my AC started acting up.  It would cool really good, then stop.  Sometimes I could turn the unit off and then on and it would start again.  Recently the overheating sensor started going off.  We replaced the fans because they were not working properly.  You can drive the car for a while, but if you turn on the AC the sensor goes off.  Any ideas?

  I think you need to be concerned.  I ran across this recently, you should read it:

I have found numerous other similar instances posted since.
I do not know what is causes this yet, but it can be devastating and dangerous.  After to reading the article, you need to have a serious talk with an authorized repair shop.
 I hate to be dramatic, but better safe than sorry.
