Volvo Repair: jammed gas door, rear cargo area, proper diagnosis

Question
The filler gas door is jammed on my 1997, 850 station-wagon.
I am using manual release to by pass it, for now.
How can I fix it?

firts it would need to be looked at for a proper diagnosis.if I had to guess I would say that the lock motor is bad and will need to be replaced.you will need to remove the side panel in the rear cargo area to access the motor.then unbolt the motor from the car to replace it.
