Buick/Olds: 2000 Buick Regal LSE comfort system lights, electronic climate control, internal fuse

Question
The display that should show the internal temperature and that would display the outside temperature, etc. does not light up.  I looked through the book that came with the vehicle but couldn't find information anywhere to tell me how this can be fixed.  What do I need to do?

Answer
The whole panel in which that display is seated comes out.  The first thing you'll want to do is check all fuses in your internal fuse box.  After that, you will need to replace the whole climate control box.  When you remove the climate, if you can locate the power and ground wires for the CC box, you can test on a battery or some other cable that supplies power to be sure that you don't have a short in the cable.  But usually it's the Electronic Climate Control module that is the problem.
