Buick/Olds: Ignition tumbler replacement, oldsmobile 98, steering wheel

Question
Can you tell me how to remove the old ignition tumbler on my 1991 Oldsmobile 98 Regency?  I lost my one and only key and since the tumbler had been replaced years ago after a vandalism, I can't have a key cut from the dealer using the serial number.  There are no apparent screws or bolts and I cannot see from the new one what the replacement sequence might be.  I recently changed the headlight dimmer switch and that went okay.  I am pretty sure I will have to remove the steering wheel, but I am nervous about removing it unless I know for sure that it has to be removed, because of the air bag.  Please help.

Thanks,
Brett

Answer
Unfortunately, Brett, you do have to remove the steering wheel.  It is a bear to do, but any Chilton's manual should walk you through it.  Be sure to disconnect the battery and remove the fuse for the airbag before you begin.  The airbag could engage and that is an ugly price to pay for an ignition tumbler replacement.
