Buick/Olds: Brakes, buick skylark, cardboard boxes

Question
('92 Buick Skylark)I believe I have a brake fluid leak. I had to fill
my brake fluid about 4 weeks ago, and again today(9-12-05). How do I
dertmine the leak, and how would it be fixed. I would like to try and
fix it on own if possible, to save money

Answer
The brake leak can be a crack in the resevoir that holds the brake fluid, it can be a hole in the brake line, or it can be a master cylinder.  The first thing to do is to check to be sure there is no new fluid around the container that holds the fluid.  Next, park your car on some lighter colored concrete or slide a couple of flattened cardboard boxes under the car and see if there is any dripping going on.  That would be indicative of a hole in the line.  Third, check around your tires.  Feel the back of the tires.  If you feel fluid there, it's a master cylinder.  There is one a each tire, and at the rate of 4 weeks, if that's your problem, it'll only be one cylinder.

Good Luck and keep me posted.
