Chevrolet: 1999 chevy camaro, camaro v6, chevy camaro

Question
I have a 99 camaro, V6 with 83,000 miles on it I just replaced the spark plugs and the wires, along with the airfliter. My car was having problems accelerating before and it still does. I now noticed that the Catalytic converter is glowing red hot now what could be the problem?

Answer
hi,
as far as the plugs did you set the gaps on each one prior to installing them.
also are all of the plug wires on the correct plugs.
when is the last time you had a major tune up, as far as the timing set as that could cause it to get a bit hot, but if it is red hot you better hope that it dose'nt start a fire on the floor / carpet etc. it is also possable that it could be shot. pluged up you might need a new one.
