Question -
I have a 93 D150 magnum p-u truck the engine stalls while Driving but will eventually restart could you give me some possible causes.
Answer -
Please give me more information.Engine type etc. This question could either be fuel related or electrical.I would first start by checking or changing the fuel filter.Sounds to me like it is starved for fuel.          Dear Ram-Man- The engine is a 318c.u. fuel injected magnum engine. The fuel pump and filter has recently been changed but the problem existed prior to the new instalation.I believe it to be electrically related possibly a relay,Brain or oil sending unit is there any way to tell without buying the parts and putting them in-- please reply  sincerly Bruce.

Answer
Check the (ASD)Automatic Shutdown Relay. It is located under the hood in the black box behind the battery. To do this first remove it from it's location, turn the relay over and note the terminal numbers on the bottom.Verify that there is battery voltage at the terminal on the panelthat corresponds with terminal 30 of the relay. The terminal should have voltage present with or without the ignition key turned on.Now check the terminal on the panel that corresponds to terminal 86 on the relay,it should have voltage "only" with the ignition key turned on.If there is no voltage check the fuel pump fuse.Connect the terminals of an ohmeter to terminals 86 & 85and check the resistance.Should be about 75 ohms,Now connect the terminals to 30 & 87a and check for continuity.Continuity should be present,Check for continuity between terminals 30 & 87,There should be no continuity.Using jumper wires, connect battery voltage to the number 86 terminal, ground the number 85 and verify that there's continuity between terminals 87 and 3.If not replace the relay.Try this and let me know.
