GM-GMC: Air Conditioner problems, recycled air, chevy cheyenne

Question
I have a 1995 Chevy Cheyenne 1500 PK. I am having problems with my AC. I have the push in buttons(Both the AC and the Recycled Air) will not come one, When I move the dial to where I can have air coming out of the top vents, or the defrost it will not work, basically I have only luke warm air that will only blow of from the feet area(bottom), I can move the level of speed and the temp from warm air to hot air, but my change and ac will not work. Can you help me, I thought it was the AC relay, as of writing this e-mail,I am going to the store in order to get a new one, so can you tell me what may be wrong? Thanks Jeff

Answer
There are a number of different actuators and doors that control the direction and temperature of the air.  From what you are describing to me you have problems with both.  The chances that two or three seperate mode door/temp door actuators are faulty at once is pretty slim.  I would be more inclined to think you have a control head issue.  It is not uncommon for the digital control heads to malfuntion in that year of truck.  My first step would be to get a known good used one and swap them to see if that solves the problem.  Hope this helps.
