GM-GMC: Fuel pump on a 98 K 1500, low pitch, high pitch

Question
Ever sense I bought the truck when you turn on the ignition, the fuel pump made a high pitch buzzing sound. Even when the engine is running, you can hear it.  Recently (Past few days) it is very week and low pitch and you can barley hear it. could this be a fuel pump going bad?.  I had the fuel filter replaced recently (before this problem arose).  Thanks

Answer
It could be the pump going out or it just might be that the old fuel filter was restrictive and causing the pump to work harder (and be more noisy).

If the pump stops working, your vehicle will stop immediately thereafter.  If it is running okay, I would just keep on driving it and see what happens.  The pump is in the fuel tank and will be expensive to change, so that is why I think you should just keep driving the vehicle.
